Alexander Muranov Heads Maritime Arbitration Commission


Moscow, December 29, 2011 – Alexander Muranov, a professor of law and the managing partner of law firm Muranov, Chernyakov & Partners, has been elected the deputy chairman of the Maritime Arbitration Commission at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

Professor of law Alexey Kostin has replaced professor Sergey Lebedev as the chairman of MAC. Changes in MAC are driven by plans of active further development of this institution.

Created in 1930, the Maritime Arbitration Commission was the first permanent arbitration forum in Russia, and it now ranks among the world’s oldest maritime arbitration centres.
